The ceremony is quick and quiet; there are still monsters on the loose, still evil to be hunted down. There's no denying the joy, though, as Evan pins a flower he can't name at all to his coat and watches David do the same. David glances up and sends him a smile, soft and warm and happy, and Evan can't help but return it.
Vows are interesting; vows usually are, sure, but Evan's still feeling the effects of that damn Replicator attack, and he doesn't exactly have his voice back yet, so after David says his piece Evan just grabs him fiercely and holds him, body against body, for a long moment. He pulls back eventually and frames David's face with his hands, thumbs stroking his jaw, before stepping away and letting his arms fall to his sides.
There are tears in several of the spectators' eyes. Evan can tell even through the dampness in his own.
Woolsey murmurs something about the power vested in him, by whom Evan has no idea, and then he's kissing David and for a second, everything is so incredibly perfect.
They'll figure this out, he and David. They'll hunt down the rest of the Goa'uld and kill them and then they'll live their lives, happy and safe and together.
